Welcome to the Official web site of Conservative Animal Welfare.

History.

Conservative Animal Welfare has evolved from the Conservative Animal Welfare Group and offers members of the Conservative Party and its supporters a forum for discussion on Animal Welfare matters. Through the history of Conservative Animal Welfare and its precursor have played important roles in the introduction of the Pet Passport Scheme, the details of the legislation ending the unnecessary docking of dogs' tails and in moderating some of the eccentricities of the Animal Welfare Act.

Moving forward.

The Conservative Party is now in coalition with the Liberal Democrats and we all hope that this coalition will be able to deliver the Country from the potential financial disaster resulting from Labour's torrid years of waste and spend.

Whilst the country is primarily engaged with matters financial there is no reason why political issues such as Animal Welfare have to be put on the back burner. We have to be aware of financial constraints, but animal welfare policy is as important as ever and we in CAW are as determined as ever to raise animal welfare standards. We look to members of the Conservative Party to help us in continuing the good track record that is the heritage of the Conservative Party and to support the work of Conservative Animal Welfare.
