Rebuilding Animal Welfare Policy

The Present

Given the present political situation in the UK where the coalition Government is striving to lead the Country away from the ruinous years of Labour spending and waste is there a role for Animal Welfare?

The answer has to be a resounding "YES!" CAW has always argued that the way in which people treat other species is a reflection of how we treat each other and as such Animal Welfare is a mirror of our own values, morality and ethics.

We have identified several topics for discussion and hope that as many members of the Conservative Party as Possible will join CAW and will also input into our discussions.

Below we have put a few headings. If you have a view please email us and we will choose a selection to put on the web site for discussion. We would ask that when you email us you provide your name and Constituency. Hopefully we can make this site an interesting and informative forum which will attract sensible debate.

1. Controlling TB

2. Badger cull

3. A new Dogs' Act

4. Imported meat and meat products

5. Hunting with Dogs

6. Bush Meat

7. Puppy farms - breeding and sale  of dogs
